Stages of Yoga

Stages of YogaThe principal intend of yoga is to re-establish the mind to simplicity, peace, and poise, to free it from distress. This simplicity, this sense mind of order and calm, comes from the practice of asanas and pranayama. They integrate the body, the mind, the intelligence and the self in four stages.

1. The first stage in the practice of yoga is the level of the physical body known as Arambhavastha.

2. The second stage is when the practitioner learns to move in unison with the body. This is known as Ghatavastha.

3. The third stage occurs when the intelligence and the body become one. This is known in as Parichayavastha.

4. The final stage is the state of perfection and is known as Nispattyavastha.

The inner spirituality will build and flow into the practitioner through these stages. Also the negative emotions such as fear, misery or pain will vanish and life will become very simplicity, peaceful and happy.
